“Greetings”
The collection of jewellery with the title “Greetings”, dating from 2004, was a response to an exhibition in Galerie Guthschmidt in The Hague with “Souvenir” as its theme.
The firm (based in Schoonhoven since 1948) where I often have my work cast was originally a foundry for souvenirs and jewellery from Zeeland. They continue to produce splendid silver windmills and clogs that are cast in the original moulds.
I have made use of the objects in this collection out of respect for the traditional crafts and as a tribute to our own, local culture.
